In 2016, a clinical psychologist turned passionate basketball coach, established “The Sports Kartail “ with four children, two bamboo poles, and a hoop in a makeshift Samba, Noida dirt court, seeking top global basketball trainers. Qualified as a clinical psychologist, his love for basketball drove him to find top trainers globally.
After Shadow Coaching at Elev8 Sports Institute in Florida with renowned trainers Ganon Baker and Cody Toppert. Being a national player, he grasped Indian basketball challenges. Starting The Sports Kartail for quality basketball, he discovered its power in transforming underserved children’s lives.
In under 4 years, The Sports Kartail expanded to 7 programs in 3 states, aiding 2500 children, over half of whom are girls. Students excelled in District, State, and National Championships, with 2 representing India in Jr. NBA Orlando. 10+ earned full scholarships in Indian Sports Schools.

Our mission is to ensure that every child has access to ample opportunities for personal growth and development, with a particular emphasis on utilizing the transformative power of sports, particularly basketball. In a world that is constantly evolving, we strive to create an environment where children can not only adapt but also flourish. Through our programs, we aim to instill essential life skills, teamwork, and resilience, all of which are integral for their success in an ever-changing global landscape. Our commitment is to empower the youth by using the unifying and character-building aspects of sports, and together, we envision a brighter future where every child’s potential is unlocked and nurtured.

Less than 10% of children have playground access, as per DASRA report. We strive to create a safe space for children, regardless of gender, caste, or class, fostering emotional and physical development through sports.

Today's children need holistic development for resilience in changing situations and turning challenges into opportunities. Our coaches and volunteers conduct regular sessions fostering practical skills, mindfulness, and sociolect-emotional learning, ensuring children's adaptability, resilience, and entrepreneurship.

We recognise the multifaceted intervention required to develop an athlete from an early age. With assistance from partners and volunteers, we offer young athletes proper nutrition, competition opportunities, education, and effective pedagogy to nurture skills and a winning mindset.

With favorable headwinds, India's basketball development needs acceleration. Our goal is to democratize basketball through proper teaching methods, global coach exposure, and support for Indian basketball initiatives.

Sport proves exceptionally effective in engaging individuals during high-risk stages. The inherent appeal of sports is a significant factor, and ensuring that the experience is enjoyable, accessible, consistent, and safe enhances its impact. Providing service users with a sense of ownership or control over activities further amplifies these positive effects.
In an ideal scenario, coaches and sports mentors play a crucial role by building trust, making individuals feel valued, and acting as positive role models. Their objective is to establish a platform that maximizes the benefits of participating in sports and community activities, creating an environment where individuals can thrive and derive lasting value from their engagement.
-Distraction: The simple argument that by taking part in sport, people at risk are not involved
in anti social behaviour or substance misuse.

-Individual development: The wide range of personal attributes that can be developed
through sport, and which are enhanced through the coaching relationship.–
-Social and Community Development: The social benefits of taking part in sports with others.
